Short version: your documents never leave your browser, and we don't store the content you convert.
The converters on Cortex Docs run entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. When you paste text or choose a file, that content is processed locally and never transmitted to or stored on our servers. When you close the tab, it's gone.
The one tool that contacts a server is the AEO checker, because it has to fetch the public URL you enter in order to analyze it. We request that page (and its public robots.txt and llms.txt) server-side, generate your score, and return it. We do not store the URL, the page content, or the results. Only enter URLs to pages that are already public.
We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand which tools are used and which pages get traffic. This collects anonymous usage data such as page views and referrers. It does not use cookies to track you across other sites, and it never sees the content you convert.
If you upgrade to Pro, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe processes the transaction directly. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
If you have Pro, a single flag is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device to remember that. It contains no personal information.
