About Cortex Docs

A small, growing set of free document tools that respect your privacy and your time.

Why this exists

It started with one annoyance: pasting an AI answer into Word and watching every table turn into a wall of pipe characters. The fix turned into a converter, and the converter turned into a small suite — because the same "clean document, in the format I actually need" problem shows up everywhere.

The two rules every tool follows

It runs in your browser. Conversions happen on your own device, not on a server. Your content — drafts, financials, client work, private notes — is never uploaded. For the AI-search checker, which has to fetch a public page, we read the page server-side and store nothing.

It's genuinely free. No account to create, no email gate, no watermark stamped on your file, no limit on how many times you use it. The optional Pro tier just adds power-user extras like batch conversion and custom branding for people who do this all day.

What's here

Markdown to Word, HTML, and plain text; HTML and Word back to Markdown; CSV ⇄ JSON; and an Answer Engine Optimization checker that scores how ready a page is to be cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. More are added as they're needed.
